Hello Kitty Hospital

I just stumbled across this post about a brand-new Hello Kitty Maternity Ward in a Taiwan Hospital.

Everything is pink and 'Hello Kitty'-themed. The staff wear pink Hello Kitty uniforms and the sheets, curtains, wraps, towels are all graced with the cute puss. Perhaps a bit too far for some, but perhaps perfect for others.....

Noticed on yokiddo and original post by Dear Dr Moz. This post is going down as one of my favourites!

Helios Thermocat

Our new helios keeps our iced tea so cool! Summer has nothing on this smart little puss.

We bought ours from a place called Stitch in Diakoyama, Japan. If you get a chance to check it out, this shop is seriously cool.

Origami Burger

I got right into origami whilst in Japan.

I'd sit each night at the window, overlooking Tokyo, patiently folding......until I mastered the paper crane.

I don't know I am ready to conquer this Origami Burger yet, but I would love to give it a try one day!

Kiddyland

Kiddyland is the coolest toy store in Tokyo. It's about 6 stories high and jam packed full of cute and colourful Japanese toys (their site has a few tempters to view).

The store itself is situated on Jingu-mai, one of the main streets in Harajuku. It was a 2 minute train ride from our hotel, so we visited often!

Sadly, their site does not do them justice, so you'll have to actually go there to get the full impact. The store is always buzzing with kids and teenage girls, who must have bedrooms full of stationery, cute toys and hair accessories!

They've captured it entirely in their motto (which is difficult to read in the image above): "Serving happiness since 1946".

The Land of the Rising Sun.

It's been a while since we've had some good Japanese products to post about....but that will be changing very soon.

Tokyo - here we come! We'll be back with more goodies in a couple of weeks!

Fractal 23

What a stylish set of drawers...

Small ones for little hair accessories and big ones for trucks, drums, even walkers!

Japanese Umbrellas Bib

Still on my bib hunt!

This set (bib and burp cloth), from thefreckledelephant features terrycream backing to ensure no spills seep through.

I love the Japanese umbrella design. So symbolic of the intriguing and ancient Japanese culture and traditions.

There is so much to experience in Japan......oh well, only 5 months to go till we can be there, amongst it all.

Bibology

While on a bib hunt, I came across this cute little bib and burper set.

I couldn't help smiling when I saw this cute bundle of bunnies, popping out of their carrot!

Made by squishable, who ship to Australia. Very cute products and an even cuter site!

Christening Kimono!

This would be very nice for a newborn Christening, though I think our Holly would have dirtied it quickly. She's such a busy girl these days!

Made by Eeni Meeni Miini Moh and available from Cocoon.

Organic Morganic

I just found wild walnut, an Australian specialist of all things organic - for everyone, including bubs.

This cool kimono particularly caught my eye. It is made using certified organic cotton - no nasty chemicals here!

Happy 2008!

We hope everyone has enjoyed the festive season and greets the new year full of energy!

I'm not one for resolutions, but I read an interesting take on them recently.....rather than set out to 'do' certain things through out the year, write the list as if it is the end of 2008 and you are reflecting on your accomplishments. I feel this requires a bit more honesty and realism.

If we end 2008, and all we've achieved is our trip to Japan (booked for Sept) - I will be very happy!
