Sleeping Bags Revamped!

I remember how ugly the family sleeping bag was when I was a kid.
I wouldn't have felt this way if Mum had shelled out on one of these beauties from Anorak!. Bring on the sleep overs!

You'll be suprised. Find out more here.

There are plenty of sales on in the lead up to Christmas!
One I am keen to check out is minifashionista - 20% off storewide till this Friday!

We live in a humid environment and I think I have finally found a solution to our moisture problems that is kid-friendly. I always worry about Holly eating some of the other granular-type moisture solutions.
The Dreambaby Dry Egg is a re-usable mositure-absorbing egg that draws the moisture out of the air, changing the colour indicator to pink. Once the egg is 'full' it can simply be put in the microwave to 'dry out' and slides back into the stand to fight mildew for another day!
The Dreambaby site has lots of info, and lists their online stockists.

The clever people at Grobag have just invented the sock suit.
Great - so after bath time the toddler can slip straight inside and stay cosy and safely mobile till bedtime. No more lost socks, kicked off sheets or tripping on the sleepsuit......
Available for $45/pair from Urban Baby.

It's the babyC cradle, designed by Dripta Roy for Puur Design Studio.
For 2650 Euros - it looks as expensive as it is!

What a stylish set of drawers...
Small ones for little hair accessories and big ones for trucks, drums, even walkers!
By Takeshi Miyakawa Design from, of course, Tokyo.......!! I heart Japan.

Now we have found a new space, we can start to think of all smart and stylish ways to fill it....
This Offi Kapsule chair provides storage, and an attractive place to sit. It comes in a range of colours and is only $US45!
It seems I'm not the only one who appreciates this smart little piece of furniture either. The Kapsule Chair was named "one of the best product designs of the year" in 2002 as a recipient of the Silver level Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA)

Completely foldable and portable these Lalpanzi beds offer a funky porta-cot solution.
They look really comfy too.........but part of me can't help thinking they look like a puppy bed?!

Love the name, love the website and LOVE the furniture!
The Small One chair and table set (above), is designed and made in Sydney by Dad, Chris Byrne - another like-minded parent looking for something stylish and functional for his daughter to use.
Small One's organic curves invite safe play and will delight design-conscious parents. The products are made to Australian and NZ safety standards - so they're not just for decoration! Also made from high quality Scandinavian birch plywood, harvested from sustainable, managed forests they are worth supporting and are so different to other major children's product manufacturers.
When not in use the chairs nestle neatly under the table. Assembled the chair is 47x 47x 42cm, with a seat height of 24cm and table 57x 45 x 72cm. Perfect for your toddler.
Available from lefthandmake.

Available in a range of funky colours - pink/orange/purple/green - the Nest chair comes in handy for all the family. The centre pops out to form a separate stool, for an older child, while the donut-shaped main chair would be great for a wobbly "almost sitting" baby, or even for Mum!
Made with organic materials, and filled with foam that would otherwise become landfill, the Nest is an environmentally-wise choice that won't look out of place in any modern home.
Do not delay - Organic Child has one pink one left at the reduced price of $99!
My name is Katie Mackenzie. I have a gorgeous baby girl, and a husband who shares my appreciation for design. We hope to bring Holly up in a place that is full of fun, style and function. We have no room for clutter. And we are limited to products that are available to Australians. This blog summarises our efforts.
